When I went in his nurse coordinator (the one I met with to discuss diet etc pre-surgery) took me to the scale to weigh me.
Good thing 1 - they weigh the same as my scales at home, makes things easier.
Good thing 2 - THEY SAID I WAS 114.2KG!!!! w00t!!! That's down from 126.9kg before the Optifast diet! That's a loss of 12.7kg!!!! For all you non-metrical peeps, that's 27.9 pounds in 4.5 weeks!!!!! HOLY SCHMALOLY! THAT'S 10% OF MY BODY WEIGHT!!!!!
I LOST THIS FISH!!!
I Googled, and that fish is the same weight as what I have lost so far!!! I LOST A BIG BUGGER OF A FISH!! Actually, my nearly 3 year old son weighs nearly 14kg so I've nearly lost my son (actually he's in the bedroom, he's not really lost *giggle*)!!! WOW!! LOL!
So I went in and as asked, laid down on the bed, and the nurse coordinator took off my dressings, checked the wounds (all good) and just had a light press to see if she could feel the port. She asked the surgeon (who at this stage had just been sitting there typing) if he wanted to see if he could feel it, he pressed a little but when I winced he said it doesn't matter, it's still a bit tender (normal) and that he'll look next time.
Oh he did reassure me I didn't really nearly die on the table, ok, maybe I over-reacted. ;) But damn, it felt like that after you get told all that stuff about trouble intubating because of swollen throat!! LOL!
When talking to the nurse coordinator I did tell her how much I was craving scrambled eggs, and she said I could try them now (not due to go to soft food for another 4 days) if I wanted to but I said I'd wait. I'd be so annoyed with myself if it got stuck or made me sick or something. Not long to go.
So that was about it for the appointment, I was genuinely in there only about 3-4 minutes!!
I am feeling so excited after working out some of these statistics. 10% of my body weight in just over 4 weeks! A fish! ROFL!!

So happy for you. I agree with the big fish lose-you don't want that hanging around too long or it will get really smelly. Congrats.
