A delicious award

I got an award!! Thanks to Sam over at Banded For Me for this delicious looking award!!! :P

There is a question that goes with this award - If you had one chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?

Answering that is proving hard. There are some things I'd love to change about my past but most of them are either out of my control or I really don't have an answer about how I'd do it differently. I suppose the basic answer, without details, is that I'd have much more self confidence. I think my weight issues throughout life have come from that. Same for the depression I suffer. Much of the self confidence and depression comes from one particular circumstance/event from my teens, so I guess the real answer is to NOT go through that. I wonder how my life would have turned out without that particular "trial"?? Then again, would I still have my gorgeous husband and kids? We all go through stuff that leads to the person we are, if it meant losing them now I'd go through it again I suppose??? Sorry, that was deep! LOL!

Anyway, time to pass on the award. I have a variety of reasons for nominations.

1. This one has to go to Work In Progress. We have found we have SO much more in common than just our bands, it's been lovely meeting WIP. She's been a huge support to me and I know she will for the rest of you too :)

2. Candid Bandit gets this one. Why? Because she's so cute!! LOL! All of her posts cheer me up because of the gorgeous photo's she posts of herself. What a smile! She just looks like a bucket of fun!

3. My third person deserves some sort of award for being a bandster who works in a lolly shop!!! From Here To Anxiety was the very first banding blog I found when I started Googling about it.

4. AlyceJo over at My Rescue IS Possible is a fairly recent bandster but we have connected on Facebook as well (as I have with the other bloggers mentioned so far) and SO MUCH of what she says I can relate to, or have been though. She's so much younger than I but I really feel like we're very similar in some ways (and very different in others) - she's great to have on the journey. She's going to be a super babe when the weight is gone because she's so darn gorgeous already!

5. Seeing In Colour is an awesome blog I've been following recently. I love her honesty, her willingness to share her trials, and her photo's - she is SO photogenic and gorgeous!

6. Last one goes to Miss Vickie over at The Queen Bee's Lap Band Life because she is so supportive of new bloggers and posts their links all the time.

So many more of you have helped me get through this journey, I could nominate all day. ;)

Help!

Someone give me a pearl of wisdom that will spark my enthusiasm for getting into it again!!

Old habits are too easy to fall into - I'm snacking again, eating things that are bad for me, and haven't got the mental energy to push myself hard enough at the gym (besides I have a bad headcold right now, when that's better I want to start).

But I've lost my mojo!! I've got nothing to give! I'm maintaining fine, but I'm stuck on this plateau both mentally and physically.

What do I do? How do I motivate myself to get back into it? I'm thinking a photo of myself on the wardrobe. I'm ok with looking in the mirror but photo's make me feel ill - I look horrid. :( Maybe that will work. I see the surgeon next month sometimes (I had a 3 month gap this time) so maybe a little fill will restrict me enough not to be able to snack the way I am. ;)

Still kickin'

I thought I should come in and say hello to everyone. I'm still here, just being boring. I'm a bit stuck, not in a slimey sort of way (although that happens a bit) but in the plateau sort of way. I have to admit, it's really my own fault. I know I need to step up/change the exercise a bit, and that my food intake is FAR from good at the moment (yes, better than before, but not conducive to weight loss), so I have no-one to blame but myself. I keep hovering around the 100kg mark, I've been under a few times by a little and same for over.

BUT... my clothes are changing. I'm in size 18 jeans which is amazing for me, really super exciting. Tops are still 20's, will take a while to come down as my belly is still big (as are my boobs), and will stay still big, for a while. Lots of work to be done there.

I've also had a fair bit of stress going on, lots of changes in our life (starting our own business with me taking the office/business reins, so my emotional eating has got the better of me a few times.

But I'll get there. 7 months out and I've lost 27kg and dropped from a size 26 to an 18-20. Can't complain about that!!

Here is a photo update - I'll show some oldies to show you the difference. :)

June

September

I'm wearing the same top today that I was wearing in the June photo, and I can see the difference in the way it fits now, definitely. And the jeans I was wearing in that one are too big now.

Oh a tip for everyone else - my hair has MUCH improved, and mostly stopped falling out, since I started taking the Blackmores Hair Skin & Nails tablets. USE THEM!!!

Spinny update

I DID IT!!

I feel like this now:

... but I did it! The full 45 minutes! I tell you, I was ready to stop after 15 minutes. The next 30 I have no idea how I managed to do it, but I did.

So POO to you nay sayers.

A message...

... to the person who looked me up and down and said "you'll die" when I said I was going to my first spin class today:

At least I'm doing it. Don't judge me because I'm overweight. You know where I started on this weight loss journey. It's hurtful to do what you did. I'm a lot fitter than a lot of my skinny friends now! You too, are very overweight, so please, think before you comment.

I do know I'm going to struggle, and probably not be able to keep up. But I'm giving it a go and that is what is important.

Wish me luck, I'll let you know how I go!

New bottom!

I just tried on some jeans, as I was running out of long pants that fit.

No longer is it like this:

I cannot believe it, but in 7 months, I've come from a size 26 butt to a size 18 butt!! That's a US 22/3X to a US 14 L/XL according to my online converter.

I honestly didn't think I was going to fit in them as the ones I tried a week or two ago didn't fit around my belly (it's a bit big really) but it turns out they must be small waisted.

THAT helps me keep going!! Oh and the fact that I am still hovering around 100kg even at TTOTM. ;)

Weigh in

This is how I plan on weighing myself now.

What do you think? Great results I'd say!!

Anyway I'm still here, I haven't been posting much as my weight loss story is boring at the moment. Monotonous on and off scales, not seeing really any changes, watching what I eat (um... mostly LOL), still going to the gym. Nothing at all exciting to report. Plateau's suck - especially when you know that it's probably your own doing but you don't have the brain power to get off. ;)
